<ol>
<li>Record a narration before or during a slide show.</li>
<li>When you record a narration, you run through the presentation and record each slide. You can pause and resume recording any time.</li>
<li>Ensure your microphone is set up and working properly prior to recording your slide show.</li>
<li>On the Slide Show tab, in the Set Up group, click Record Slide Show  .</li>
<li>Select one of the following:<br />
o	Start Recording from Beginning<br />
o	Start Recording from Current Slide</li>
<li>In the Record Slide Show dialog box, select the Narrations and laser pointer check box, and if appropriate, select or deselect the Slide and animation timings check box.</li>
<li>Click Start Recording.</li>
<li>To end your slide show recording, right click the slide, and then click End Show.</li>
<li>The recorded slide show timings are automatically saved and the slide show appears in Slide Sorter view with timings beneath each slide.</li>
<li>A sound icon   appears on the slide.</li>
</ol>
<p dir="auto"><strong>Preview the Recorded Presentation</strong></p>
<ol>
<li>In Normal view, on the slide, click the sound icon  .<br />
OR</li>
<li>On the ribbon, under Audio Tools, on the Playback tab, in the Preview group, click Play.</li>
</ol>
<p dir="auto">To record a sound for a PowerPoint 2003/2007 presentation, you can follow the steps below:<br />

<ol>
<li>Open the PowerPoint presentation you are going to record a sound in, and go to Insert -&gt; Movies and Sounds -&gt; Record Sound</li>
<li>In the Record Sound dialog, Name field, enter a name for the recording.</li>
<li>Next, at the bottom of the dialog, click the red dot (the Record button) to start recording a sound.</li>
<li>When finished, click the blue square (the Stop button) on the left of the Record button.</li>
<li>To test the recorded sound, click the blue triangle (the Play button).</li>
<li>Record another sound if the existing one is not satisfying. To confirm the recorded sound, click OK. The sound icon is displayed on the current slide.</li>
