Dont be confused. In Dawn of Biotechnology topic, it has been explained that how Biotechnology became a revoloutinary field with the passage of time with new and discoveries being made time to time such as the discovery of Restriction enzymes, as well the fact that scientists started to know that which character is controlled by a particular gene or genes. All this is included in Dawn of Buoetchnology.

What are some genetic disorders and how these disorders transfer from parents to offsprings?

A genetic disorder is a disease caused in whole or in part by a change in the DNA sequence away from the normal sequence. Genetic disorders can be caused by a mutation in one gene (monogenic disorder), by mutations in multiple genes (multifactorial inheritance disorder), by a combination of gene mutations and environmental factors, or by damage to chromosomes (changes in the number or structure of entire chromosomes, the structures that carry genes). For example, Down Syndrome, Thalassemia, Cystic Fibrosis, Sickle Cell Anemia etc.

The most common patterns of transfer of genetic diseases are the following. Dominant genetic diseases are caused by a mutation in one copy of a gene. If a parent has a dominant genetic disease, then each of that person’s children has a 50% chance of inheriting the disease.
